Metal Hammer

Masthead at the top is bright red. Pull quotes are all over the front page all following black white and red colour scheme. The font itself appears to be drawn words making it stand out from other magazines. You can see direct address being used on the magazine with the man looking directly at you. As he looks angry and the colours around him you can tell it is a rock/ metal magazine.  The only writing over him is relevant to the cover photo this is the main cover line. A screamer accompanies the main cover line. Skyline is also used above the masthead.

You can see the bar code which also has the price and dateline on it. With a flash telling you that you get free posters and a CD inside. With all the little drawings in the background it stands out and you can see from the drawings its metal music especially by skulls and satanic pentagram being drawn.

The colour scheme yet again follows black white and red colours to create a professional image with easy to read text. These colours are usually associated with rock and or metal bands. The majority of the pictures shown here are using direct address yet again to make the audience feel connected to the magazine.

Pictures to show the audience who these articles are on and roughly what it is about. The fact that the first picture shown is the biggest picture and he was on the front cover shows this is their biggest article of this issue.

This is the feature article which has a very large feature article photograph taking up a whole page with the Body copy on the other half of the magazine.  This is a simple layout with larger bold text in the centre to draw the reader’s attention.
