Prelim evaluation
Did you plan your magazine? If not, what have you learnt about the importance of research and planning? - I did not plan my magazine and from this I have learned that it is important to plan and research these things. To make it the best it possibly can be research would let me know what the audience wants to see making my magazine even better than it is now.
What technology did you use to complete the task and how did you use it? - To make the magazine I used serif page plus X6. I used this as it is professional software which has many useful tools which is compatible with other programs. I had access to cut out studio which I used to remove the background from my pictures. This was very useful as it made my work look more professional.
Did you encounter any difficulties? If so, what were they and how did you overcome them? - I had difficulty removing backgrounds so I asked one of my peers for help and they told me about the cut out studio which I then used and found very useful. I think it is always useful to ask others for help as you can learn from others in so many ways and in other areas you can help others after they have helped you in the past.
How successful was your magazine? Please identify what worked well, and with hindsight, what would you improve/do differently? - My magazine wasn't very successful. Although it had some magazine features it looks more like a poster with some professional elements. I think that the pictures look like they would on a real magazine. if I were to do this task again I would use a wider range of colours to make my magazine more eye catching as well as research into existing magazines to make it look professional.
What have you learnt from completing this task? Looking ahead, how will this learning be significant when completing the rest of your foundation coursework, do you think? - From completing this task I have learned how to use the software more and I have learned how important it is to research before creating a magazine. I will definitely research on my next task as well as try to use more tools on the software to make my magazine look as professional as possible.
